THE IMPORTANCE OF QUOTAS FOR WATERPROOFING

The availability of quotas for waterproofing is a constant problem in the works. In both internal and external areas, a gap of at least 6 cm should be provided for the area that will receive the waterproofing. This allows the application of waterproofing and the finish.

It is also necessary to take into account the thickness of the mechanical protection layer required in the project. Asphalt blankets need a mechanical protection layer of at least 3 cm. Mortars or liquid blankets can receive the coating directly on them.

It is important to remember that, regardless of the type of waterproofing used, it is always necessary to direct the water for runoff points. Bearing this in mind, regularization is carried out on the slabs, ensuring that they have a drop of 0.5% towards the drains / drainage points in the internal areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, and 1% for the external areas, such as the roof slabs.
