BATHROOM WATERPROOFING

When it comes to waterproofing bathrooms, attention must be doubled. After all, these are the places most prone to the appearance of mold, mildew and infiltrations.

In these places, the most suitable products for waterproofing are mortars. And DRYKO, with its DRYKOTEC line, offers efficient options for these situations.

Before applying, it is important that the surfaces to be waterproofed are clean, free of greases, oils or any other type of residue.

It is also necessary to check if the area has been regularized with a 0.5% drop towards the drains, to avoid puddling.

The perimeter joints, which are the joints between the wall and the floor, must be finished in half cane.

Start the application by moistening the surface, without leaving deposits.

Apply the first coat over the entire area of the box, including the floor, up to a height of 1.20 m. Use the product also in the perimeter joints, rising 30 cm in the baseboard from the floor. Wait for drying (approximately 6 hours).

The second coat must be applied, incorporating a DRYKOTELA PVC screen over the entire length of the perimeter joints. Wait for the drying and apply the remaining coats until the screen is completely covered.

Watch out for waterproofing drains. They must also be reinforced with DRYKOTELA PVC and can be waterproofed with a more flexible material, such as the DRYKOPREN PRETO asphalt emulsion or the DRYKOLAJE TOP liquid blanket.
