DRYKOMANTA PRO III
1 m - 10 m

GENERAL INFORMATION

Industrialized asphalt waterproofing membrane made from modified asphalts with elastomeric polymers, reinforced with a non-woven polyester filament fabric pre-stabilized with thermoset resin. It is characterized by high flexibility, tensile strength, and tear resistance.

Where to apply:

  • Large areas and structural movements
  • Roof slabs in general
  • Parking lots, ramps, bridges, viaducts, and tunnels
  • Elevated helipads
  • Pools, decks, and elevated water mirrors
  • Cold areas: Bathrooms, kitchens, terraces
  • Retaining walls and concrete curtains (ground side)

For other applications, consult our DRYKO technical team.

The substrate for the application of DRYMANTA PRO III must be clean, free of foreign bodies, formwork residues, protruding reinforcements, release agents, impregnated products, faults, and nests.

For smooth concrete, sand with a steel brush or mechanically to open pores and remove release agents or curing agents.

Level the surface with a minimum slope of 1% towards the water drainage points for outdoor areas and 0.5% for indoor areas. Prepare with cement and medium sand mortar in a 1:4 ratio, adding DRYKOFIX CHAPISCO adhesive emulsion to the mixing water for better adhesion to the substrate. The mortar should have a smooth finish, with a minimum thickness of 2 cm.

Emerging pipes and drains should be rigidly fixed with DRYKOPOXI. Drains must have a minimum diameter of 75 mm (3 inches) and it is recommended to recess the mortar by 1 cm around the drains to reinforce the waterproofing layer.

Round off sharp corners and edges. Cracks and fissures should be treated with DRYKO SELANTE PU before application.

At building entrances (doors, frames, etc.), the leveling should extend at least 60 cm into the interior, under thresholds and counter-frames, respecting the slope towards external areas, except for internal areas with wooden or moisture-degradable floors that should receive specific detailing in the project. It is recommended that external areas have lower levels than internal areas, according to waterproofing project details.

Cold joints and concrete seams can be treated with DRYKOPOXI or as recommended by the project.

Notes:

  • The mortar used for leveling should not contain lime or waterproofing additives. If necessary, use DRYKAL.
  • Wait for the mortar to cure for at least 7 days.
  • In pools or elevated concrete reservoirs, perform a water load test for at least 72 hours to accommodate the structure before waterproofing, checking for any cracks and fissures that may occur under full load.

Application of Primer

Apply a coat of DRYKOPRIMER ACOUA PRO or DRYKOPRIMER ECO and wait for at least 6 hours for it to dry before bonding the membranes and providing adequate reinforcement around drains and emerging pipes.

Application of the Membrane

Fully unroll the first membrane, align it in the center of the area, then roll it up again. Fix the membrane using the chosen application system or as specified in the project.

Application with a Torch

Using the appropriate torch, direct the flame onto the side of DRYKOMANTA PRO III that will be adhered to the substrate. Ensure the flame simultaneously heats the primed substrate and DRYKOMANTA PRO III, completely melting the finishing film and pressing to ensure adhesion.

Application with Hot Asphalt

Heat ASFOX PRO to a temperature of 180 to 220 °C using a certified heater. Apply a uniform layer with the help of a spreader yarn, on the side of DRYKOMANTA PRO III and on the primed substrate. On the substrate, apply layers no more than 1 meter away from the roll. Press from the center to the edges to remove excess and potential air bubbles.

Begin application at critical points such as drains, joints, pipes, etc. Always start from the lowest point of the areas (drains and outlets).

Apply the membrane in the opposite direction to the water flow. Repeat the process, making a 10 cm overlap along the total length of the membrane and 20 cm at the top, ensuring adhesion between them with the help of a spatula, trowel (beveling), or hot asphalt.

The floor membrane should rise 10 cm on the skirting, and the skirting membrane should overlap the floor membrane by 10 cm. Reinforce around drains and emerging pipes. Embed in vertical planes and other finishes as per the project.

Waterproofing Test

Immediately after the waterproofing is completed, perform a waterproofing test for 72 hours.

Mechanical Protection

Separator Layer

The separator layer prevents the existing stresses from the slab and the stresses from the expansion and contraction of the mechanical protection mortar from acting directly on the waterproofing. Place a separator layer of DRYKO CAMADA SEPARADORA over the waterproofing, then execute the mechanical protection of the area in question as per project specifications.

Horizontal Protection

We recommend performing mechanical protection using a 1:4 mix with DRYKOFIX CHAPISCO in the mixing water with a minimum thickness of 3 cm. If the mechanical protection is the finished floor, create the mortar in frames no larger than 2m x 2m, filled with asphalt mastic with DRYKO EMUL.

Vertical Protection

Remove the polyethylene film from the asphalt membrane and apply a cement and medium sand plaster in a 1:3 ratio and a smooth cement and medium sand mortar in a 1:4 ratio, both using mixing water composed of 1 part DRYKOFIX CHAPISCO adhesive emulsion. The mortar should be reinforced with plastic mesh, rising 10 cm above the asphalt membrane. Adhesive mortar can be used as plaster.

Recommendations

  • Follow the scope, details, and finishes as per the project.
  • Do not apply the product in rainy weather or on a wet substrate.
  • DRYKOMANTA PRO III does not have UV resistance and must be protected immediately after the waterproofing tests.
  • Keep the asphalt heating equipment close to the application area to maintain temperature and reduce risks during transportation.
  • We recommend that our products be applied by trained professionals specialized in waterproofing activities.

Valid for 60 months from the date of manufacture, provided that storage standards are respected.

Store in a covered, dry, ventilated area, away from heat sources, and in environments with temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

  • Working with high temperatures, we recommend observing the safety standards established by the relevant authorities and using appropriate PPE to ensure the safety of the workers.
  • Handle with care. Avoid strong impacts and contact with sharp surfaces.
  • In enclosed spaces, create forced ventilation if necessary.
  • For more information on handling and safety, consult the product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available on our website – www.dryko.com.br.
  • Dispose of the contents/container at an approved waste treatment and disposal facility. Do not reuse the packaging.
